(Philadelphia) September 17, 2018 - Black & Brown Founders, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is now accepting scholarship applications for Project NorthStar 2018. The scholarship is available for those who want to attend NorthStar, but find the cost of the ticket to be prohibitive.

Project NorthStar is a 3-day tech conference, presented in partnership with the City of Philadelphia, focused on providing connections, education and opportunities to hundreds of entrepreneurs and knowledge workers from the Black and Latinx community who want to build a tech company or launch a career in tech.

Black & Brown Founders hopes to provide access, community and knowledge to as many Black and Latinx people as they can.

The scholarships are available for students, startup founders, job seekers and tech professionals with financial need and will cover up to 90% of the ticket price. In addition, Day 3 (October 5th from 10AM-1PM) of the conference will be free for people to attend. Registration is still required, and Day 3-only tickets will be made available on September 21st.

“Project NorthStar is about providing access to as many Black and Latinx aspiring entrepreneurs,” said Aniyia Williams, Executive Director of Black & Brown Founders.  “We don’t just want people to be in the room, we need people at the table and do not want the cost of a ticket to be a barrier.”

Scholarship candidates can apply here now through September 26th, or until scholarship funds are depleted.

2018 Project NorthStar Scholarships are made possible by Zebras Unite and individual donors. Black & Brown Founders thanks them for their support.
